With so much negativity around right now with COVID-19, where we’re seeing so much division and fear, the times where we can highlight true joy are NECESSARY! I was so happy to experience a little bit of joy this week with Kristin and Alec. Such a sweet, young couple and you can just see the heart-eyes and how much fun they have together. Their photos were so full of laughter and I LOVED it!
Many LDS couples are having to make adjustments to their traditional weddings due to the LDS Temples being closed right now. Some of them are choosing to wait until the temples reopen, but most are opting for a small civil ceremony with their immediate family and then will perform their “sealing” in the temple whenever it reopens. Alec and Kristin are in that boat and opted to have a really special ceremony in her parents’ backyard to celebrate and say “I Do.”
We started out with a private bride and groom session in the desert where we did a super adorable first look. When I was taking bridals of Kristin, I overheard Alec say, “She’s a baddie.” Yes she is Alec haha! So cute 🙂 Their wedding day the next day was TINY and intimate, in order to be cautious of the virus. They had only a few people there, but welcomed the rest of their family and friends to watch their sweet ceremony on Zoom. It was so cool seeing all their family and friends watching digitally. Later that night after dinner, they had a “drive-by reception” where neighbors, friends, and family did a drive by parade to congratulate the new Mr. and Mrs. Meza. Such a special day and I’m so grateful I could be a part of it! Congrats you two!!
